Flamengo was the only Brazilian club chosen by Adidas to star in its new global campaign, positioning the Rubro-Negro brand alongside world football powerhouses.
The relationship between Flamengo and Adidas has just gained a new chapter of international prestige. In a marketing move anticipating trends for the 2026/27 seasons, the German supplier selected the Rio de Janeiro club as Brazil’s exclusive representative in its new advertising material, bypassing other teams sponsored by the brand in the country, such as Cruzeiro and Internacional.
The advertisement places the Sacred Jersey on the same level as giants like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, and Bayern Munich. The spotlight on Flamengo in the campaign features idol Arrascaeta, who appears in the official image sharing space with world football stars, including Lionel Messi and Jude Bellingham.
The weight of the global brand
The sports giant’s strategy reinforces the strength of the Rubro-Negro institution in the international market. The list of clubs included in the publication is selective and encompasses powerhouses from various continents, such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax, Boca Juniors, and Inter Miami. The campaign’s message, celebrating the return to activities, was promptly celebrated by Flamengo‘s official social media profile:
We are back. New season, same love for the game.
Strategic partnership and engagement
Flamengo’s exclusivity is not a coincidence, but rather a recognition of the dimension of the Rubro-Negro fanbase. With a historic partnership spanning decades, since the 80s and consolidated again in 2013, the club has proven itself a valuable asset for brand visibility. The massive reach of ‘O Mais Querido’ generates engagement that few sports institutions in the world can replicate.
While the European scene begins to map out its future seasons, Flamengo remains focused on the Brazilian calendar. The exposure gains even more interesting contours amid market speculation about future changes in the sports supply management of other national giants, such as Palmeiras. Maintaining its status as Adidas’ favorite reaffirms Flamengo’s leading role in the global sports marketing scene.
