Following unsuccessful attempts to secure new signings, Flamengo remains active in the transfer market, seeking alternatives to strengthen its offensive unit for the remainder of the season.

Flamengo is currently redefining its strategy in the pursuit of reinforcements. After frustrating attempts to sign Thiago Almada and Luiz Henrique, the club’s board remains fully focused on addressing key gaps in the squad.

The club’s primary goal is to find an attacking midfielder capable of rotating with star player Arrascaeta, as well as a right-winger who can immediately step into the starting lineup.

EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES

To help fans understand the landscape, our team has prepared a technical analysis of five players who possess the specific skill sets desired by the coaching staff to elevate the squad’s level for the rest of the year.

Options monitored in the international market

The North American market has emerged as a breeding ground for opportunities for Rubro-Negro. Among the prominent names is Evander, a 28-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder.

Currently playing for FC Cincinnati, the player has impressive numbers in MLS, recording 60 goals and 52 assists in 126 matches. He is known for his creativity and powerful long-range shooting.

Another strong alternative is Mexican international Roberto Alvarado. At 27 years old and coming off a standout performance in the 2026 World Cup, the Chivas Guadalajara player distinguishes himself through his versatility, capable of playing both on the right flank and in a central role.

Alternatives with potential for the squad

Argentine Martín Ojeda, of Orlando City, also emerges as a versatile option. At 27, with a record of 44 goals and 31 assists in 148 games, he has established himself as a clinical finisher in the United States league.

Meanwhile, Malcom, of Al-Hilal, is viewed as the ideal option due to his successful background at Corinthians and Barcelona. However, a potential signing is considered complex due to the high financial stakes, as the Saudi club aims to recoup part of its 60-million-euro investment.

Finally, the young 20-year-old Claudio Echeverri appears as a long-term prospect. Currently under contract with Manchester City, the Argentine faces stiff competition in England. Should the European club opt for another loan spell, Flamengo could position itself as a strategic destination for the rising star to gain consistent playing time.

The club’s board continues to analyze these possibilities, looking for the best cost-benefit ratio to meet the demands of a grueling schedule.

Expectations are that Mengão will intensify talks over the coming weeks to define the next steps in the transfer window.
