Juventus has taken a decisive step in the transfer market, overcoming strong competition from Chelsea and nearing the signing of Bosnian gem Kerim Alajbegovic.

Juventus is very close to making official the arrival of one of the most promising talents in world football. According to information from journalist Patrick Berger of “Sky Sport,” the Old Lady has reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the permanent signing of Kerim Alajbegovic. The attacking midfielder, who gained global recognition representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in the recent World Cup, is expected to cost around 33 million euros in guaranteed fees, potentially reaching 40 million euros (approximately R$ 233 million) with contractual variables.

The Decisive Factor: Sporting Project Trumped Chelsea

Although Chelsea showed aggressive interest in the player, the career plan offered by the English club, which suggested a loan period before integration into the main squad, did not convince the prospect’s staff. Juventus, in contrast, assured the 18-year-old that he would have a prominent role and be an active part of the Turin team upon his arrival. The guarantee of immediate playing time was the deciding factor for the athlete to choose Italian football.

Meteoric Rise After the World Cup

Alajbegovic‘s performance during the World Cup was the major turning point for his valuation. Despite Bosnia‘s early exit, the attacking midfielder shone individually, standing out in advanced metrics such as breaking defensive lines and intelligent movement in the final third. His goal in the victory over Qatar in the group stage solidified his reputation among the continent’s top scouts.

From RB Salzburg to European Recognition

The Bosnian prospect’s trajectory gained traction in the 2025/26 season when he played for RB Salzburg. With 13 goals and four assists in 44 games, the player forced Bayer Leverkusen to exercise its buy-back clause. However, the return to Germany was short-lived; the interest from giants like Napoli and, especially, Juventus‘s successful negotiations, sealed the player’s destiny.

Now, the Italian team is just waiting for the medical examinations to formally announce the reinforcement. The expectation is that Alajbegovic will bring versatility, off-ball intensity, and the attacking aggression needed to elevate Juventus‘s competitive level for the season.
