América is undergoing a major squad overhaul for the Serie B season, officially announcing nine new signings and the departure of 11 players in a bid to secure promotion.

Pressure on the Coelho has reached a breaking point, with an urgent need to deliver results for the fans in the Brazilian Serie B. In a move that highlights the board’s seriousness regarding the remainder of the season, the club from Minas Gerais has carried out a significant “clear-out” in the dressing room, releasing 11 players who failed to meet expectations while looking to revitalize the team with nine strategic additions.

This restructuring is not just about numbers, but about identity. With the motto of “Spirit, Love, and Passion” echoing from the stands, América fans are demanding a team that honors the badge. The arrival of these new players shows that the club is willing to invest to address the tactical gaps that have prevented a more consistent campaign so far.

The blueprint for change at the training ground

The renewal process has brought in key names for various positions. To bolster the defensive and creative sectors, the club signed goalkeeper Bruno Brígido, center-backs Manoel and Luca Sosa, and full-backs Alex Silva and Tobías Ostchega. The midfield has been reinforced with Jorge Jiménez and Gabriel Domingos, while the attack will feature the firepower of Rodrigo Piñeiro and Guilherme Parede.

On the other hand, the club has ended the cycles of players such as Nathan, Wesley, Paulinho, Samuel Alves, Artur, Yago Santos, Val Soares, Thauan, Jhonatan Lima, Everton Brito, and Yarlen. The board believes this “cut” was essential to refresh the group and create an environment of renewed competitiveness.

The América board believes that this overhaul is the most direct path to recovering the tactical and psychological consistency needed for the remainder of the championship.

Eyes on the upcoming challenges

The manager is already beginning to see the fruits of this strategy. While Manoel and Jiménez have already logged minutes on the pitch, the fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of Gabriel Domingos against Londrina. For other names, red tape is the final hurdle: Guilherme Parede and Alex Silva are just waiting for their registration to be processed in the CBF’s system.

The biggest impact, however, will come from the international signings. Bruno Brígido, Luca Sosa, Tobías Ostchega, and Rodrigo Piñeiro will only be available to join the squad after July 20, when the international transfer window opens. The target for this quartet’s debut is clear: the clash against Avaí in the 19th round.

América’s challenge now is to quickly integrate these new pieces so that team chemistry develops before the gap to the G4 becomes insurmountable. The board’s dedication to overhauling the roster is the first step, but the real test will be this new group’s ability to show, on the pitch, the spirit and love that the club’s history demands.
