CazéTV announces changes to its sports betting advertising strategy after questions from the Ministry of Justice regarding the format of activations during sports broadcasts.

CazéTV, an audience phenomenon led by Casimiro Miguel, has officially announced a fundamental shift in its commercial strategy. After becoming the target of an investigation by the National Consumer Secretariat, linked to the Ministry of Justice, the sports channel decided to tighten the criteria for advertising betting companies in its broadcasts. The decision comes at a time when the regulation of the sector in Brazil is becoming increasingly stringent.

The controversy revolved around how “bets” were presented to the public. Unlike traditional advertising formats, the practice of indicating real-time increases in odds during matches, encouraging bets on specific plays, was interpreted by the ministry as a possible violation of the Consumer Defense Code.

Business Model Adjustment

The technical staff of the Ministry of Justice identified that direct exposure to these stimuli could mislead viewers, disregarding current regulations. In response, CazéTV announced it would adopt a “more specific and conservative standard.” The intention is to separate the channel’s characteristic spontaneity from commercial activations, ensuring that entertainment does not improperly mix with gambling appeals.

“As the sports betting market in Brazil is recent and maturing, activations in this segment will now follow a more traditional advertising format, distinct from the spontaneity of other content.”

Pressure and Responsibility

The change is also the result of a heated public debate. Federal Deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) was one of the most incisive voices in criticizing the volume of betting advertising on Brazilian television. By specifically targeting Casimiro, the parliamentarian put the channel in the spotlight, demanding greater care regarding the impact of this content on the young audience that follows the broadcasts.

The Future of Broadcasts

Despite the criticism, CazéTV reaffirms its commitment to legality, ensuring it operates strictly with operators regulated by the Ministry of Finance, in compliance with Law 14,790 of 2023. The goal now is to balance financial sustainability, necessary to continue offering free, quality broadcasts, with an ethical stance that preserves the trust of its vast audience.

With an eye on upcoming events, the channel seeks to demonstrate that it is possible to innovate in sports communication without overstepping the lines established by regulatory bodies, ensuring a safer environment for soccer fans who follow “Raça, Amor e Paixão” daily on their computer or mobile screens.
